How the interaction occurs:

Ciprofloxacin or fluvoxamine may slow down how quickly your liver processes olanzapine.

What might happen:

The amount of olanzapine in your blood may increase and cause more side effects than normal.

What you should do about this interaction:

Make sure your healthcare professional (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) knows that you are taking these medicines together. They may want to adjust your olanzapine dose or change your ciprofloxacin or fluvoxamine to a different medicine. Get help right away if you have severe drowsiness, feel dizzy or weak, have trouble walking or talking, have stiff muscles or tremors, slowed breathing, or seizures.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
