Who should not take Clomipramine HCL?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • pheochromocytoma
  • overactive thyroid gland
  • suicidal thoughts
  • serotonin syndrome
  • a type of disorder with high serotonin levels
  • heart attack within the last 30 days
  • seizures
  • a condition with high fevers and muscle contractions called malignant hyperthermia
  • risk of angle-closure glaucoma due to narrow angle of anterior chamber of eye
  • neuroblastoma
  • manic-depression
  • closed angle glaucoma
  • an atrioventricular conduction defect in the heart
  • liver problems
  • an inability to completely empty the bladder
  • CYP2D6 poor metabolizer
  • chronic kidney disease stage 4 (severe)
  • alcohol use disorder
  • orthostatic hypotension
  • a form of low blood pressure

Allergies:

  • Tricyclic Antidepressants and Tricyclic Compounds
