How the interaction occurs:
The cancer medicine injected into your tumor(s) contains a weakened herpes virus. Antiviral medicines used to treat herpes infections may counteract the effect of your cancer medicine.
What might happen:
The cancer medicine may not work as well.

Before receiving talimogene laherparepvec injections, make sure your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that acyclovir, famciclovir or valacyclovir have been prescribed for you. Your provider may want to delay or discontinue one of your medicines.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
