If you are PREGNANT
- Requires a Risk/Benefit Assessment:
If you are NURSING
- Precaution: LIMITED DATA SUGGESTS MINIMAL EXCRETION WITH UNKNOWN EFFECTS ON THE BREASTFED
If you are an adult over 60
- Management or Monitoring Precaution: Endocrine-Increased risk of hyponatremia and SIADH which may increase fall risk. Renal-Decrease dose by 50% for CrCL less than 30 mL/min. Cardiovascular-May elevate blood pressure and increase heart rate. Caution with underlying cardiovascular disease.
Giving Savella to a child under 12
- Severe Precaution: Risk of new-onset and sustained hypertension. Not approved or recommended for pediatric use. Possible increased suicidal ideation and attempt.
