Who should not take Samsca?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • alcohol use disorder
  • an increased sodium level in the blood
  • high levels of potassium in the blood
  • liver problems
  • decreased blood volume
  • cessation of urine production
  • caloric undernutrition
  • dehydration
  • bleeding of the stomach or intestines
  • osmotic central pontine myelinolysis
  • a brain problem that occurs when rapidly correcting low sodium
