How the interaction occurs:
Medicines containing aluminum, calcium, iron, magnesium, selenium, and zinc may bind to vadadustat in your digestive tract.
What might happen:
Your body may not absorb as much vadadustat. Vadadustat may not work as well.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Time your medicines so that you do not take your vadadustat one hour before or two hours after any medicine containing aluminum, calcium, iron, magnesium, selenium, or zinc.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
