What should I Know Regarding Pregnancy, Nursing and Administering Primaxin Vial to Children or the Elderly?
If you are PREGNANT
- Requires a Risk/Benefit Assessment:
If you are NURSING
- Precaution: SMALL AMOUNTS EXCRETED, POOR ORAL ABSORPTION.
If you are an adult over 60
- Management or Monitoring Precaution: General-Reduce dosage for body weight < 70kg. Renal-Reduce dosage for CrCL<90mL/min.
Giving Primaxin Vial to a child under 12
- Severe Precaution: Not recommended for pts with CNS infections due to risk of seizures. Not recommended for pts < 30 kg with renal impairment, as no data are available.
