Pafolacianine/Folic Acid Interactions

How the interaction occurs:

When folic acid or folate is given within 48 hours of pafolacianine, it may cause pafolacianine to not bind to receptors on cancer cells.

What might happen:

Pafolacianine may not be able to detect cancer cells.

What you should do about this interaction:

Your folic acid or folate may need to be stopped for 48 hours before you take pafolacianine.Your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
