How the interaction occurs:
Calcium or iron containing supplements may bind to bictegravir in your GI tract.
What might happen:
Your body may not absorb the full dose of your bictegravir and it may not work as well.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Your doctor may want to run some blood tests to check how your medicine is working. Bictegravir and calcium or iron containing supplements may be taken together with food. Avoid taking bictegravir on an empty stomach at the same time or 2 hours after calcium or iron containing supplements.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
