Who should not take Mycophenolate Mofetil Vial?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • kidney problems due to BK polyomavirus
  • progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy
  • a type of brain infection
  • pure red cell aplasia
  • chronic kidney disease stage 4 (severe)
  • skin cancer
  • a rupture in the wall of the stomach or intestine
  • hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase deficiency
  • malignant lymphoma
  • a patient who is producing milk and breastfeeding
  • pregnancy
  • bleeding of the stomach or intestines
  • liver problems
  • low levels of a type of white blood cell called neutrophils
  • decreased function of bone marrow
  • cancer or malignancy
  • opportunistic fungal infection
  • an unusual viral infection called cytomegalovirus infection
  • a herpes simplex infection
  • shingles in patients without a normal immune system
  • chronic kidney disease stage 5 (failure)
  • stomach or intestinal ulcer
