How the interaction occurs:

When these two medicines are taken together, your body may not process clozapine as quickly.

What might happen:

Your blood levels of clozapine may increase. You may experience a fast heartbeat, low blood pressure, fatigue, dizziness, increased salivation, seizures or decreased breathing.

What you should do about this interaction:

If you experience these problems, contact your doctor right away. The dose of your medicines may be need to be adjusted.Your doctor may need to change one of your medicines or may need to check your blood frequently to be sure your white blood cells are in a safe range. It is important that you keep laboratory appointments.You should contact your healthcare provider right away if you have symptoms of infection such as a fever, sore throat or flu-like symptoms.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
