How the interaction occurs:
Antacids may increase the amount of amphetamine that gets into your body.Some vitamins may contain "hidden" antacids such as some forms of calcium and magnesium.Some laxatives may also affect how your body absorbs amphetamines.
What might happen:
Taking these together may increase the effect of amphetamines.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Let your doctor know if you have side effects. Your doctor may tell you not to take your amphetamine at the same time as your antacid.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
