How the interaction occurs:
Ulipristal may decrease the effectiveness of other hormonal contraceptive products.
What might happen:
Your hormonal contraceptive (including combination products, progestin-only products, and levonorgestrel emergency contraception) may not be as effective.
What you should do about this interaction:
Make sure your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. If you are taking a combination contraceptive or a progestin-only product, you should use a reliable barrier method of contraception during intercourse until your next menstrual cycle begins. Discuss alternatives to levonorgestrel emergency contraception with your healthcare provider.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
