How the interaction occurs:
When these two medicines are taken together, the antibiotic may cause the BCG to not work as well.
What might happen:
The effects of your antibiotic may decrease the effectiveness of the vaccine or of BCG treatment for bladder cancer.
What you should do about this interaction:
Before receiving a vaccination or bladder instillation of BCG let your doctor know if you are taking any antibiotics.Your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
