Riociguat/Antacids Interactions

How the interaction occurs:

Antacids may lower the amount of riociguat absorbed into your body.Some vitamins may contain "hidden" antacids such as some forms of calcium and magnesium.

What might happen:

If you take an antacid at the same time as your riociguat, the amount of riociguat absorbed into your blood may decrease and it may not work as well.

What you should do about this interaction:

Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. If you are taking an antacid (aluminum/magnesium hydroxide, calcium carbonate), take it at least 1 hour before or after you take your riociguat. If you have any questions about how or when to take your medicine, ask your pharmacist.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
