How the interaction occurs:

Avacopan and lonafarnib may both slow down how quickly your liver processes the other.

What might happen:

The amount of avacopan and lonafarnib in your blood may increase, which may cause more side effects than normal including nausea and vomiting, increased risk of infection, high blood pressure, and liver toxicity.

What you should do about this interaction:

Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know right away that you are taking these medicines together. Ask your pharmacist what side effects to look for and report for the medicine you are taking.Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any unexplained symptoms such as yellowing of your skin or white part of your eyes, pain on the upper right side of your stomach area, feeling tired, dark or brown urine, bleeding or bruising more easily than normal, or loss of appetite. Notify your healthcare provider if you have fever or any symptoms of infection.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
