Pegaspargase may affect how your body processes your contraceptives.

What might happen:

The amount of contraceptives in your body may increase and cause more side effects than usual, including blood clots.

What you should do about this interaction:

Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines. Your doctor may want to you to use a non-hormonal form of contraception while you are taking pegaspargase and for 3 months after you stop.If you develop a warm or hardened area in your legs, aching in the legs, problems bearing weight on your legs, chest pain, or shortness of breath, contact your doctor right away.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
