How the interaction occurs:
The cause of the interaction is not known. When these two medicines are taken together, your nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine may increase the effects of your blood pressure/water pill on the kidney.
What might happen:
You may experience kidney failure or an increase in your blood levels of potassium.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know right away that you are taking these medicines together. It may be necessary to check your kidney function and potassium levels within 1 week of starting and more often when taking a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine. It may be necessary to change your pain medicine.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
