Who should not take Haloette 0.12 Mg-0.015 Mg/24 Hr Vaginal Ring Contraceptives?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • porphyria
  • heart valve disease
  • abnormal bleeding from the uterus
  • breast cancer
  • diabetes
  • high amount of triglyceride in the blood
  • inherited disorder of continuing episodes of swelling
  • depression
  • significant uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • non-Q wave heart attack
  • coronary artery disease
  • a stroke
  • obstruction of a blood vessel by a blood clot
  • blood clot in a deep vein of the extremities
  • liver problems
  • yellow-brown patches on skin
  • tobacco smoking
  • long period of being bed-ridden after major surgery
  • a liver tumor
  • cancer in the lining of the uterus
  • tumor that is dependent on estrogen for growth
  • overweight
  • a clot in the small veins that carry blood to or from the retina of the eye
  • a heart attack
  • a disorder of the blood vessels of the brain
  • thrombophlebitis
  • an inflamed vein due to a blood clot
  • at risk for formation of blood clots
  • disease of the gallbladder
  • visible water retention
  • jaundice associated with pregnancy
  • a bacterial infection in women called toxic shock
  • pancreatitis
  • migraine with aura
  • history of deep vein thrombosis
  • history of pulmonary embolism
  • excessive fat in the blood

  • Progestins
