Who should not take Depakote ER?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • low amount of albumin proteins in the blood
  • decreased blood platelets
  • depression
  • liver problems
  • citrullinemia
  • hereditary disease causing neurologic dysfunction
  • high amount of ammonium in the blood
  • suicidal thoughts
  • organic mental disorder
  • acute inflammation of the pancreas
  • pregnancy
  • ornithine carbamoyltransferase deficiency
  • urea cycle disorder
  • porphyria
  • carnitine deficiency

Allergies:

  • Valproic Acid Analogues
