How the interaction occurs:
If taken together your cholesterol medicine, colesevelam may bind to your blood pressure medicine, preventing your body from absorbing the blood pressure medicine.
What might happen:
A decrease in the beneficial effects of your blood pressure medicine may occur.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know you are taking these medicines together. Time your medicines so that you take your blood pressure medicine four hours before your cholesterol medicine, colesevelam. If you have any questions about how to take your medicines, ask your pharmacist. If you monitor your blood pressure, let your doctor know if your blood pressure increases.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
