Who should not take Enoxaparin SODIUM Syringe?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • a decrease in platelet clotting
  • procedure to place indwelling epidural catheter
  • neuraxial anesthesia
  • local anesthesia injected in the epidural space or subarachnoid space
  • deep plexus block
  • operation on the spine
  • deep peripheral nerve block
  • stomach or intestinal ulcer
  • decreased platelets due to the medication heparin
  • an increased risk of bleeding
  • bleeding of the stomach or intestines
  • bleeding
  • abnormal bleeding in the brain resulting in damage to brain tissue
  • called a hemorrhagic stroke
  • bacterial infection of heart valve
  • significant uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • decreased blood platelets
  • increased risk of bleeding due to clotting disorder
  • diabetic retinopathy
  • a type of damage to the eye from diabetes
  • brain operation
  • eye surgery
  • chronic kidney disease stage 4 (severe)
  • chronic kidney disease stage 5 (failure)
  • cerebral amyloid angiopathy
  • mechanical heart valve present
  • bleeding within the skull

Allergies:

  • Heparin Analogues
  • Alpha-Gal (Galactose-Alpha-1
  • 3-Galactose)
  • Pork/Porcine Containing Products
