Who should not take Cytarabine Vial?
The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:
Conditions:
- cardiomyopathy
- a disease of the heart muscle
- acute respiratory distress syndrome
- a type of lung disorder
- stomatitis
- a condition with painful swelling and sores inside the mouth
- stomach or intestinal ulcer
- liver problems
- vomiting
- high amount of uric acid in the blood
- a bacterial infection
- opportunistic fungal infection
- an infection due to a protozoa organism
- decreased function of bone marrow
- anemia
- decreased blood platelets
- low levels of white blood cells
- low levels of granulocytes
- a type of white blood cell
- a painful condition that affects the nerves in the legs and arms called peripheral neuropathy
- fluid in the lungs
- necrotizing enterocolitis
- or inflammation and tissue death in the colon and small intestine
- acute inflammation of the pancreas
- coma
- diarrhea
- pregnancy
- kidney disease with likely reduction in kidney function
- an increased risk of developing an uncommon viral infection called an opportunistic infection
- a patient who is producing milk and breastfeeding
