Who should not take Coumadin 10 Mg Tablet?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • cancer or malignancy
  • polycythemia vera
  • caloric undernutrition
  • low vitamin K levels
  • increased risk of bleeding due to clotting disorder
  • significant uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • inflammation of the covering of the heart or pericardium
  • balloon-like swelling of an artery of the brain
  • a cholesterol embolism
  • bleeding
  • stomach or intestinal ulcer
  • severe liver disease
  • bleeding of the stomach or intestines
  • decreased kidney function
  • possibility of having a miscarriage
  • fever
  • abnormal liver function tests
  • pregnancy
  • tropical sprue
  • CYP2C9 poor metabolizer
  • procedure to place indwelling epidural catheter
  • operation on the spine
  • eye surgery
  • anemia
  • an increased risk of bleeding
  • decreased platelets due to the medication heparin
  • patient with catheter in the vascular system
  • bacterial infection of heart valve
  • fluid in the covering of the heart or pericardium
  • bulge and tear of the aorta blood vessel wall
  • blockage of a bile duct
  • bowel movements containing much fat
  • bleeding from the genitourinary system
  • recent operation
  • bleeding from the respiratory tract
  • excessive diarrhea
  • major traumatic injury
  • gangrene
  • protein C deficiency disease
  • bleeding risk associated with vitamin K epoxide reductase (warfarin-sensitive) gene
  • calciphylaxis
  • neuraxial anesthesia
  • local anesthesia injected in the epidural space or subarachnoid space
  • deep plexus block
  • deep peripheral nerve block
  • cerebral amyloid angiopathy
  • bleeding within the skull
