How the interaction occurs:
Disulfiram can slow down how quickly your body processes your anticoagulant (e.g. warfarin).
What might happen:
You may experience an increased chance for bleeding.
What you should do about this interaction:
Your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) may already be aware of this drug interaction and may be monitoring you for it.If your doctor prescribes these two medicines together, you may need to check your bleeding times more often. Your anticoagulant dosage may need to be adjusted while you are taking disulfiram. Contact your healthcare provider as soon as possible if have unusual bleeding from the gums or nose; unusual bruising; red or black, tarry stools; red, pink or dark brown urine; sudden severe abdominal or joint pain and/or swelling.Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with your healthcare professional first.
