Who should not take Carvedilol?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • Prinzmetal angina
  • a type of angina where chest pain occurs when at rest
  • second degree atrioventricular heart block
  • sick sinus syndrome
  • low blood pressure
  • chronic bronchitis
  • pregnancy
  • floppy iris during eye surgery
  • CYP2D6 poor metabolizer
  • diabetes
  • complete heart block
  • sinus bradycardia
  • peripheral vascular disease
  • emphysema
  • asthma
  • blood circulation failure due to serious heart condition
  • chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
  • an abnormal but slight slowing of the heart called first degree atrioventricular block
  • severe liver disease
  • sudden and serious symptoms of heart failure called acute decompensated heart failure
  • myasthenia gravis
  • a skeletal muscle disorder

Allergies:

  • Beta-Blockers (Beta-Adrenergic Blocking Agts)
  • Carvedilol
