Who should not take Butalbital-Caff-Apap-Codeine Capsule?
The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:
Conditions:
- acute liver failure
- caloric undernutrition
- liver problems
- a condition where the body is unable to maintain adequate blood flow called shock
- acetaminophen overdose
- acute inflammation of the liver due to hepatitis C virus
- abnormal heart rhythm
- an ulcer from too much stomach acid
- seizures
- severe liver disease
- necrotizing enterocolitis
- or inflammation and tissue death in the colon and small intestine
- chronic kidney disease stage 5 (failure)
- chronic kidney disease stage 4 (severe)
- kidney disease with likely reduction in kidney function
- systemic mastocytosis
- untreated decreased level of thyroid hormones
- decreased function of the adrenal gland
- alcohol intoxication
- cor pulmonale
- low blood pressure
- decreased lung function
- constipation
- acute inflammation of the pancreas
- sleep apnea
- an inability to completely empty the bladder
- CYP2D6 ultrarapid metabolizer
- worsening chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- surgical removal of the adenoids in pediatric patient
- drug abuse
- asthma attack
- blockage of the stomach or intestine
- biliary and gallbladder problem
- weakened patient
- high pressure within the skull
- CYP2D6 poor metabolizer
- surgical removal of the tonsils in pediatric patient
- history of opioid overdose
- inherited dysfunction of autonomic nerve function
- alcohol use disorder
- lung failure causing loss of breath
- porphyria
- decreased blood platelets
- suicidal thoughts
- hyperactive behavior
- a coma due to liver failure
- decreased kidney function
- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- high amount of ammonium in the blood
- anemia
- low levels of a type of white blood cell called neutrophils
- depression
- impaired brain function due to liver disease
- complex sleep behaviors like eating or driving while asleep

- Opioids - Morphine Analogues
- Tramadol
