Flibanserin/Alcohol Interactions

How the interaction occurs:

Drinking alcohol or taking medications with a high alcohol content increases your risk for severe side effects from flibanserin.

What might happen:

You may experience lightheadedness, low blood pressure, dizziness, fainting or severe sedation.

What you should do about this interaction:

Wait at least 2 hours after drinking alcohol before taking flibanserin, or skip your dose of flibanserin if you drank alcohol in the evening. After taking flibanserin at bedtime, do not use alcohol until the following day.Contact your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) about taking flibanserin with medicines having a high alcohol content. If feel lightheaded or dizzy, lie down right away. Get emergency medical help if the symptoms don't get better or if you feel like you might faint (lose consciousness).Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
