How the interaction occurs:

Both burosumab and phosphates or vitamin D analogs can increase the amount of phosphate in your body.

What might happen:

The amount of phosphates in your body can become too high, leading to bone, muscle, or heart problems, which may be life-threatening. You may also develop calcium deposits and damage in your kidneys.

What you should do about this interaction:

Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know right away that you are taking these medicines together, or if you have muscle cramps, bone or joint pain, numbness or tingling around your mouth, blood in your urine, fever, chills, or severe pain in your belly, back, groin or testicles.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
