How the interaction occurs:
Both medicines affect how your heart uses calcium.
What might happen:
When used to treat or prevent a condition known as malignant hyperthermia, the combination can cause serious and potentially life-threatening affects on the heart.
What you should do about this interaction:
Malignant hyperthermia can be caused by anesthesia and/or surgery. Before any surgery, be sure to let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know of all the medicines you take.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
