Who should not take Vaseretic?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • diabetes
  • increased activity of the parathyroid gland
  • high cholesterol
  • low amount of magnesium in the blood
  • high amount of calcium in the blood
  • dehydration
  • liver failure
  • systemic lupus erythematosus
  • an autoimmune disease
  • high amount of uric acid in the blood
  • secondary angle-closure glaucoma
  • a type of eye disorder
  • basal cell carcinoma of the skin
  • cessation of urine production
  • cancer of the squamous cells in the skin
  • sympathectomy
  • a type of joint disorder due to excess uric acid in the blood called gout
  • low amount of sodium in the blood
  • low amount of potassium in the blood
  • acute inflammation of the pancreas
  • yellowing of the skin in a newborn child
  • abnormally high levels of nitrogen-containing compounds in your blood
  • decreased blood volume
  • acid base problem with low chloride and basic pH blood
  • chronic kidney disease stage 5 (failure)
  • inherited disorder of continuing episodes of swelling
  • decreased function of bone marrow
  • narrowing of the aortic heart valve
  • renal artery stenosis
  • liver problems
  • pregnancy
  • high levels of potassium in the blood
  • a reduction in the body's resistance to infection
  • low levels of a type of white blood cell called neutrophils
  • hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
  • low blood pressure
  • a type of allergic reaction called angioedema
  • chronic kidney disease stage 4 (severe)
