How the interaction occurs:

Gemfibrozil slows down how quickly your liver processes daprodustat.

What might happen:

The amount of daprodustat in your blood may increase and you may be at a higher risk for high blood pressure, blood clots in your arteries, veins and lungs, heart attack, and stroke when taking these two medicines together.

What you should do about this interaction:

Make sure healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Your doctor may want to change your other medicine while you are taking daprodustat.Seek medical care immediately if you experience chest pain; shortness of breath; pain in your arms, neck, jaw or back; swelling, pain, or tenderness in your legs; sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body; headache or confusion; or problems with vision, speech, or balance.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
