Acetaminophen/Isoniazid Interactions

How the interaction occurs:
Isoniazid may affect how your liver processes acetaminophen.
What might happen:
The amount of a metabolite of acetaminophen in your liver may increase and cause liver damage.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Your doctor may want you to use a different pain reliever while taking isoniazid. Let your doctor know right away if you have any signs of problems with your liver, such as abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting, yellowing of the eyes or skin, or dark urine.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
