How the interaction occurs:

Cinacalcet may slow down how quickly your liver processes amitriptyline, desipramine, or nortriptyline.

What might happen:

The blood levels of your amitriptyline, desipramine, or nortriptyline may increase and cause toxic effects.

What you should do about this interaction:

Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Your doctor may want to adjust the dose of your other medicine while you are taking cinacalcet.Seek help right away if you have seizures, faint or have palpitations/irregular heartbeat.Contact your doctor if you have new or worsening blurred vision, urinary retention, mental or mood changes, confusion, dry mouth or constipation.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
