Who should not take Femhrt?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • breast cancer
  • cancer of the ovary
  • tumor that is dependent on estrogen for growth
  • high amount of triglyceride in the blood
  • high amount of calcium in the blood
  • inherited disorder of continuing episodes of swelling
  • increased risk of blood clotting
  • a migraine headache
  • optic disk edema
  • coronary artery disease
  • a stroke
  • uterine fibroids
  • family history of breast cancer
  • cancer in the lining of the uterus
  • a condition with low thyroid hormone levels
  • low levels of parathyroid hormone
  • hepatic porphyria
  • deficiency of anti-clotting agents
  • dementia
  • a clot in the small veins that carry blood to or from the retina of the eye
  • a heart attack
  • a clot in the lung
  • obstruction of a blood vessel by a blood clot
  • at risk for formation of blood clots
  • disease of the gallbladder
  • systemic lupus erythematosus
  • an autoimmune disease
  • seizures
  • tobacco smoking
  • protein C deficiency disease
  • blood clot in a deep vein of the extremities
  • asthma
  • a lump in the breast
  • recent operation
  • visible water retention
  • bedridden patient or one unable to move around freely
  • severe liver disease
  • history of deep vein thrombosis
  • history of pulmonary embolism
  • diabetes
  • overweight
  • high blood pressure
  • chronic heart failure
  • thrombophlebitis
  • an inflamed vein due to a blood clot
  • liver problems
  • decreased kidney function
  • pregnancy
  • excessive fat in the blood
  • porphyria
  • depression

  • Estrogens
  • Progestins
