The first time I got my injection of Depo it was right after I had my period. I did not get a period again until I got my second shot and my period lasted for about 3 months. I've been on the shot for almost two years now. It was a easy decision since i could never stay on track with the pills and wont use a IUD. i have been on the depo shot for over two years. the first 6 months i experienced heavy bleeding. i have gotten the worst migranes, i have gained over 20 pounds, i now have high blood pressure, high heart rate and low sex drive. the only good to the depo shot is not having to remember to take it everyday. i am now switching to the cryselle pills.
