I wish I'd researched the horrible side effects of Clindamycin before taking it. On day 6, I began having mild stomach upset and a bad taste in my mouth that wouldn't go away. I continued the medication hoping the issues would subside. By day ten I had severe abdominal cramping, nausea and bouts of diarrhea every five minutes. I discontinued the Clindamycin and I spent two days in bed googling how to heal myself. I began drinking sugar free ginger ale and cranberry juice and took a turmeric capsules and my symptoms began to ease up a little and I was able to fall asleep for a few hours. My stomach hurts still two days later but I am feeling better. My stomach is bloated and sore and I'm having multiple bm's every day. It feels like permanent damage was done and I'm concerned about that. I wouldn't recommend that anybody take this drug because of all the things I've read that have happened to other people as well. Also, do not take an opiode with this drug. Google and learn the facts before you take any new drug. I will from now on.

Severe tooth infection, prescribed 300mg 4x per day, 7 days. I'm only on day 5, but I've had zero side effects (knock on wood after reading these reviews) and didn't eat for the first two days due to tooth pain. I had to have my tooth pulled on day 2, but continued the clindamycin to ensure zero infection remains from the fractured tooth. Other medications I'm taking have included ... Show Full Comment

I had to have my tooth pulled on day 2, but continued the clindamycin to ensure zero infection remains from the fractured tooth. Other medications I'm taking have included tylenol (3-4,000 mg/day) and I haven't adjusted my diet or water intake (about 80 oz/day). I'll certainly update this review with the same username if this changes!

My lower back is so bad I cannot stand up. The pain is overwhelming. Very unstable and dizzy. I had cellulitis and then they want to overdose you afterwards

I was taking Amoxicillin after a root canal that I had on early June. A few weeks after taking it, I woke up with a swollen face. I was worried about it and had it for about 2 or 3 days until I got my parents to actually take me to the ER since the swelling and pain was intensifying. When I got there, I was met with a nurse who did my vitals and checked my mouth. It appeared to be obvs caused by an abscessed tooth and the people who performed the root canal did the wrong tooth though it was also infected but it was not as severe as the untreated one. So they fed me a few milliliters of a steroid in liquid form and prescribed me 300 mg of clindamycin 4x a day for 14 days. While taking it, it did help drain the abscess quite good. I was doing my research on clindamycin and I discovered there is an even higher chance of contracting C. Diff from the drug than any other antibiotic and it's probably because it's stronger than most of them so it kills more good bacteria in the GI system. And I got very anxious thinking I would contract it during or after the time frame I was taking it (since there were some reports of contracting it even after finishing the medication anytime, ranging from a few days, a few weeks, or hell, even several months after taking it). I didn't experience any GI SE's at all during the time frame of taking the drug and the only complaints I had were heartburn on the first day (which felt like a knife in my throat) and that's about all. Note that I didn't take any probiotics nor did I eat yogurt during the time I took clindamycin. which was strange. Also, on the day I was finished with the clindamycin, I went to another dentist and finally got the worst tooth done via a root canal. The dentist that did the worst tooth prescribed me amoxicillin to prevent any advancement of the abscess. As of now, I am finished with the amoxicillin and am taking some OTC probiotics to prevent the risk of C. Diff.

This drug has been ok, I've been taking it for my tooth extraction, and since I discovered I was pretty allergic to the amoxicillin I was given prior (500MG). But weirdly like the amoxicillin it has upped my anxiety for no reason. I'll be hopefully in a better headspace once I'm done w/ this course in four days.
