Before taking this medication, my knees and legs were in constant, extreme pain. After a year of this (no side effects), I have a small amount of occasional pain. I believe alendronate has been very beneficial. I am thrilled with my successful outcome!

I took Alendronate 70 mg once a week for 6 weeks. After the six weeks my heartburn which was under control with the help of Prilosec became intolerable - burning 24 hrs a day worse than ever before. After weeks of this I am now taking Carafate which seems to be helping. I know now as a sufferer of GERD I never should have tried this medicine.
