    I have no problems taking Valtrex. I forgot to send for my refill which has been 8 days now and I am broke out from my knees up to my chest. Has anyone experienced this?

    I broke out with herpes 1 for the first time about a month ago, and I was prescribed Valtrex. It was 2 pills a day for 14 days I believe? By day 7 I saw improvement and soreness went down a great deal. By day 14 all the sores were completely gone. About 2 days ago I broke out again, just as bad.. I'm now on day 2 of Valacyclovir HCL.     I have to add that using L-lysine (no prescription required-sold in vitamin section of all drug stores 1000mg daily) has really helped me as well... with genital and oral sores. Breakouts are less frequent and less severe. This may be crazy to some-- but all of you know how awful this virus is.. and at the time of an outbreak you will do just about anything to help heal it.
