Was prescribed this for a bad UTI. It seemed to work, and got rid of my symptoms within a day or two. I am on day 10 and still doing well. So far so good. !

Second day after starting on nitrofurantoin 100 MG I had a fever,chills,aches,pains and no appetite. Thinking I had the flu, I just rode it out, I thought. Five days into taking this medication I could not walk when I got out of bed for the first few steps as I had sharp pains from my ankles to my knees. After a fourth dose of this medication, I became so exhausted that I was unable to get out of bed, lost all appetite and found breathing difficult (short of breath). This continued until my final dose this morning. I just looked up this website to determine whether others have similar problems & was surprised that they do. There are other meds for UTIs. This medication, that i took for two days, made me very ill. I was bleeding from my rectum, vomiting, and very fatigue. Headaches so bad that i felt my brain was throbbing. After i quit taking the medication all symptoms went away.

Was given this antibiotic by my doctor, I started immediatly to be sick and had a fever and after 5 days phoned the surgery and was told to stop taking and given a different antibiotic, which cleared my infection. Will not take this drug againg
