I have had a uti that required two doses of Levofloxacin, which finally seemed to clear it up. In the mean time my gynecologist suggested that I see a urologist to keep any future UTIs in check. The urologist did an extensive urine analysis and put me on a protocol of more Levofloxacin and then prescribed 30 days of Nitrofurantoin. I took it in the a.m. & felt fine but by the afternoon I was t ... Show Full Comment

After 3 days of taking nitrofurantoin I started having chest pain, sore throat and sore jaw. It's now been 5 days after I stop taking the medication. I still have chest pain and sore throat.

I read a ton of reviews on this website and knew I may have symptoms, but honestly thought I would be fine because I have a strong stomach and rarely ever experience side effects from medication. Boy was I wrong. These antibiotics absolutely destroyed my gut - which is usually in great, working condition. Within the first 24hrs I had somewhat ... Show Full Comment

My Dr. Prescribed me this medication for my UTI. I only had two side effects from the medicine. The first time I took a dose I noticed I was a little lightheaded but knowing me, of course I didn't eat anything before taking the medication...I'm hard-headed lol but the second side effect I had was sleepiness. I walked around like a zombie until I fell asleep ??
