I have a condition called Bronchiectisis and a myco bacterium avium. infection. i take this drug on a cycle basis,10 days on 14 days off, alternating with doxycycline. I started taking it again for siunu and am finding now I have severe flu symptoms and run a low grade fever. I think it has always done that just not to this extent. I plan not to take anymore. I had a bad reaction to this drug. A half hour after taking my pulse increased to 103 and my heart pounded like a drum. Would never use again.

I took this drug for a cold that had gone on for a month. Two five day doses of 500mg. I was having problems with my ears so I ended up at an ENT specialist who pre sribed 750mg for 14days. After 7days I quit because the drug was killing my stomach. By that time I was in Spain and couldn't walk around the block my feet hurt so much. I took this drug for a cold that had gone on for a month. Two five day doses of 500mg. I was having problems with my ears so I ended up at an ENT specialist who pre sribed 750mg for 14days. After 7days I quit because the drug was killing my stomach. By that time I was in Spain and couldn't walk around the block my feet hurt so much. My husband and I had to cut our trip to 2 days instead of 7. When I went back to my family physician who prescribed the first dose of Levaquin, he was cluelist about a possible connection. I have since seen an orthopedist who was familiar with the drug and had ten sessions of physical therapy. I walk well enough but in some ways my feet ache even more then they did when this first occurred, 3 months ago. I tell everyone not to take this drug.

O took this for 10 days for diverticulitis. I woke up the 4th day could not move my neck for 3 days, then left shoulder socket was hurtung, both went away then on day 7 or 8 my elbow hurt real bad, next day whole muscle from rist to shoulder was so sore coulnd pick up a coffee cup, 3 days after end of medicine i was liteheaded for 2 days at the same time my fingers on left arm started tingling, th ... I don't want to scare anyone-but I had very bad reactions and have warned everyone I know to stay away from this medication. The good news is my reaction symptoms went away and I went back to normalcy within about 5 days after stopping the meds-so try not to freak out yet if you have experienced bad reactions. The good news is my reaction symptoms went away and I went back to normalcy within about 5 days after stopping the meds-so try not to freak out yet if you have experienced bad reactions. I was put on this medication for a bad cough & upper respiratory infection and first took it at about 9PM. I literally did not sleep at all that night-eyes wide open staring at the ceiling. (Normally I have no trouble whatsoever falling asleep, sleeping, and no reaction to medications.) That night I had foot cramps (on the top of my feet) that were moderately painful and lasted a bit through the night. I went to work the next day-suprisingly I was not tired whatsoever. Then I took the next pill at about 5PM thinking then I might be able to sleep. But again-I stayed awake for another night-staring at the ceiling. Again I had terrible foot cramps-really bad this time-again throughout the night. Then when I got out of bed in the morning to take a shower I noticed that my fingers were numb and tingly (almost like I slept on them the wrong way or I had hit my funny bone). This scary sensation remained through the day. My tongue was also hurting me a lot. I called the doctor and she just said to stop the meds and that she had never heard of any reactions like that. I then went on to WebMD and read the manufacturer's warning which described my symptoms perfectly. Then I was worried. Some reviews also scared me. And one reviewer said they had gotten blisters on their tongue from this med. Yup-a closer inspection proved that was why my tongue was hurting. I also felt and was told by others that I acted like I had 4 pots of caffeine in me. I stopped the meds and no more foot cramps. Within 1 day my numbness in my fingers went away. For sleeping - gradually I was able to get a whole night's sleep. In about 5 days - all seemed and seems fine. Good luck. :- )
