Although it did help to reduce the # of migraines, after being on this drug for over ten years, my bones, teeth, hair and nails were awful. Early osteoporosis, teeth chipping, nails and hair brittle. Finally stopped it after realizing it was the Topamax.

Topamax works great and was the only medicine to ever help my migraines. Ive been on alot of medication and ive never been allergic to anything but i got the rarest reaction in the book at 17 and almost went completely blind. My eyes swelled out of my head and i looked like syd from ice age. Its a no go for me chief.

I was on this drug for 5 years, 100mg for the first 2years and 200mg for 3years,unfortunately the side effects took over and affected my work, slowed memory, blurred vision, memory loss, anxiety, and more. Please read the side effects and ask your family to note any unusual behaviour. I am now off this drug and hoping my brain is back to normal.
