I have been battling with my Ulcerative Colitis for 4 years now. I started with 6 pills of Asacol. I could not stand taking that many pills in one day. Then I went to Canasa suppositories that was not enough. It was not reaching high enough in my colon to treat the Colitis. Now I have been on Lialda, 4 pills a day, for 1 year. SINCE I STARTED TAKING IT 4 DAYS AGO I HAVE DIARREH AND SEVERE ABDOMINAL PAIN. MY JOINTS HURT SO BAD I CAN HARDLY MOVE. I AM GETTING SO DEHYDRATED. I WAS FINE BEFORE MY DOCTOR PUT ME ON THIS MEDICINE. I THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE IT A CHANCE TO GET INTO MY SYSTEM. BUT I AM NOT TAKING THIS EVER AGAIN AND I AM CALLING MY DOCTOR. Hello people. like most of you, Lialda works for me. I been on it for like 8 months. So far no sideffets. But I hate taking them because Im only 21 and if I take these pills forever im sure to have sideffects. I am going to try to take one pill a day for now on, and later I want to take none. I dont want the sideffects and I possibly want to have a child later but not when im on Lialda. Any advice

I've been battling this disease almost 15 years; I'm 28 years old-so I've been treated with Asacol-which I couldn't tolerate,Dipentum which worked and I went into remission for about 8 years-without medicine, and for the last 6 months I've had consistent flare ups.
