I have a bone infection in my jaw from the removal of my wisdom teeth. I took Invanz for 6 weeks via a PICC line and was very happy with the lack of side effects and the progress noted through bloodwork. I have a bone infection in my jaw from the removal of my wisdom teeth. I took Invanz for 6 weeks via a PICC line and was very happy with the lack of side effects and the progress noted through bloodwork. However, after going off the medicine the infection came right back after two weeks. I am now on Invanz again via PICC Line, for 8 weeks. The medicine has not been as effective this time. My bloodwork does not look great. My jaw has started to swell again. My body has built up an immunity to the medicine, I'm assuming. This medicine is great for someone who doesn't have a severe or persistent infection.

My Father has been on this drug for over 2 weeks due to an infection after a hip replacement. He is 83 and has a very sharp mind. Now if no one talks to him for 10 seconds he dozes into this agitated stage where he is feeding himself, reaching for things, talking and at times aggressive behavior over things that aren't even there. My Father has been on this drug for over 2 weeks due to an infection after a hip replacement. He is 83 and has a very sharp mind. Now if no one talks to him for 10 seconds he dozes into this agitated stage where he is feeding himself, reaching for things, talking and at times aggressive behavior over things that aren't even there. Hallucinations! Cannot sleep. I am staying awake as I write because he can also not support his weight, which he could until this week, and he thinks he can get up when he is in these dreams or whatever!! He returned home from the ER today and they did all lab work and a CT scan. All were good. Yet no one thought this antibiotic would be doing this. I say bull. He will be changed once I can speak to his physician tomorrow morning on Monday.

I took this medicine by IV via a Picc line for 3.5 weeks to clear up a very bad infection of my breast following a reduction. The bacteria causing my infection was Serratia. I had no side effects except a yeast infection and also yeast in the area of my wound vac (breast). I get yeasty with ANY antibiotic, though. I had no side effects except a yeast infection and also yeast in the area of my wound vac (breast). I get yeasty with ANY antibiotic, though. I am very happy with this drug, and extremely happy that it helped clear up my infection (along with two surgeries and a wound vac.)
