My doctor recommended Theracran for UTI prevention but, after taking it diligently for five months, I have still suffered through THREE very nasty UTI requiring multiple courses of high dose Ceftin (the only drug I can take due to severe antiobiotic allergies). For over one year, I took Theracran along with a low suppression dose of macrodantin, as prescribed by urologist for chronic uti's. It did not work. I showed some improvement when I switched to 8 oz. of 100% cranberry juice (no sugar) and then showed dramatic improvement when I started taking d-mannose and no antibiotics.
