I thought this would be an excellent option for me as I always had problems remembering to take pills. It was the worst mistake I ever made. I bled every day for 6 months - and not just normal period blood - it was the grossest black/brownish sludge. I felt so disgusting! Not only that but the acne that developed on my face, back, and chest was atrocious. Massive underground zits and sometimes the

Struggling to remember to take the pill every day, I decided to try nexplanon. I’ve been on nexplanon for 4 months and I’m getting it removed. Weight gain, no energy, mood swings, and depression. I’ve also had light spotting in between. My physician highly recommended this but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The implant is my first form of birth control (age 23) and I got it in January and had constant spotting daily since then and light cramping from time to time. Worked amazing to prevent pregnancy, but I experienced long, heavy periods that hardly ever stopped. I ended up having to get the Nexplanon removed due to that. Insertion hurt and I was sore for about a week. Removal was much easier and I don’t feel too sore. I was really hoping this would work for me, but the bleeding was too much.

This medication quite literally almost killed me and many others. The information is so hard to find about how many people have horrible experiences with this, but after finding support groups, I have come to realize that a terrifying amount of people have had severe adverse effects from this medication. PLEASE consider getting something else!!!
