I removed the device about 2 years ago and still cant cant pregnant. Had it on for just 1 year, in which i gained weight and had unbalanced emotional episodes. Would not recommend if you wanted to get pregnant again.

I’ve never had any type of BC before but got the implant 6 weeks after I had my baby. Insertion was easy but from the start I had a constant period, I was depressed and anxious and had no sex drive, which I thought might have been postpartum issues, but its been 2 YEARS and the bleeding hasn’t let up and all the psychological effects are still very apparent. Full disclosure, I got this after I had a baby so, my hormones and recovery was something I was already dealing with. I did suffer some PPD so, I cannot attest to how it may change you when you first get it. However, my first year, I did have a never ending period. I got some Chinese herbs to help end that. The implant procedure was simple, quick, and almost painless. As birth control, it was very effective - I did not not pregnant. I did have side effects though, such as weight gain and total loss of sex drive, that resulted in my removing the implant after a year.
