Like other glaucoma eye drops, this medication does have various side effects that affect people differently who use this medication. I have tried many other glaucoma meds that did not work and/or I had more severe adverse side effects which made my eye problems worse, and prompted my doctor to prescribe Zioptan. I have alot of drug allergies, and I find that the preservatives and other excipients

I have been getting sinus stuffiness neck tightness throbbing pulsating at the top of my head and facial area been on it 2 month was hoping the side effects would go away with in time

All of these side effects came about with this drug, which is only one in a long list of glaucoma meds tried. A few minutes of racing heart/shortness of breath after dosing along with immediate stuffiness in nasal passages which lasts all night. According to my doctor, this drug is perfect for me. Zioptan does not contain any preservatives, as I am allergic. It does cause dryness and a burning sensation. It has lowered my pressure beautifully.

I have been on it for 7 days and am quitting this drug. First, my nose got stuffy, and I didn't know that this was a side effect. Now my sinuses are messed up and I am getting earache and headaches, which happens when I get too stuffed up. Each day the stuffiness gets worse.
