I have been prescribed this medication after coughing constantly for 10 days to the point of almost throwing up.. it made a big difference in terms of suppressing my cough, now it's almost gone after only 3 doses in 24 hours, however, i haven't been able to fall asleep at all... Did not work for 3 nights now. I wake up with cough after 2 hour. Previously used another codeine based medication about 3 year ago that helped me immediately. Upset with this drug.

This has not helped my cough. I have bronchitis, I hoped to get a little sleep, but woke coughing every 1 to 2 hours. This is the second day of use, I feel over the counter daytime Robitussin DM cough medicine helped more.

I have a persistent cough for two weeks, coughing up foam looking stuff, green stuff and Dr. gave me this cough syrup, she said it was the "magic medication" she said to take it at bed time so I could sleep, well, its 1:20 am and I am wide awake, it took about an hour for it to kick in but it gave me upset stomach and energy. maybe its for daytime.

I used this medicine for the 1st time in 1999 and it worked on my cough, Went to the ER today due to my cough, found out that I have the start of strep throat and my tonsils are red and a little bit swollen so I know this will work on the pain from that. yes it tastes really BAD but if you hold your nose or mix it with apple juice it isn't that bad .
